Hyperice and UNINTERRUPTED Spotlight Athlete Stories in Staying in Rhythm

Hyperice and UNINTERRUPTED have partnered together to launch an exclusive new content series about passionate athletes at the top of their game called Staying in Rhythm.

To help tell these stories, both Hyperice, a high-performance wellness company specializing in recovery therapy, and UNINTERRUPTED, the sports empowerment brand built by NBA star LeBron James and his business partner Maverick Carter, were looking for a production partner with the ability to craft content in ways that felt genuine, compelling, yet edgy. That’s what led them to Southpaw.

“We were given a lot of creative trust and freedom on this project,” said Mark Ritchie, Southpaw EP and director. “The goal was to find true, authentic moments that showcase a day in the life of different athletes to help bring their stories to life.”

The series features three episodes starring PGA TOUR golfer Tony Finau, BMX athlete Nigel Sylvester and MLB shortstop Fernando Tatis Jr. Each multi-dimensional story highlights how each of these athletes use their passions to fuel their success in competition.

Creatively, the team worked overtime to make each story feel as unique as the athlete, visually spotlighting their sport and personality in different ways. The first episode features a focused Finau in his element swinging balls at a serene Salt Lake City-based golf course while the second highlights the kinetic energy of Sylvester’s riding in the urban landscape of his Queens, NY hometown.

Each episode has its own point of view, but what connects them is the level of effort and commitment each of these athletes invest in their sport, in both their performance and their recovery.

“Their ability to perform at that level comes with a lifelong dedication of effort, consistency and repetition,” Ritchie said. “Which was inspiring to me as a filmmaker and storyteller – to figure out how dedicated I have to be to stay on the top of my craft.”

Starting with the Finau episode, Staying in Rhythm launched on the Hyperice and UNINTERRUPTED social media channels this fall and can also be viewed on UNINTERRUPTED.com. The rest of the episodes will premiere later this year.
